That’s exactly what Silvio Berlusconi, the Italian premier, has decided to do. With the help of antiques dealer, Annamaria Quattrini, he recently purchased Napoleon Bonaparte’s 200 year old four poster bed. This beautiful, timeless piece of furniture, which has a majestic canopy, eagle head carvings and bronze fittings will once again be inhabited by a man who aspires to rule all he surveys and finds it difficult to resist the temptations of the fairer sex.

Annamaria Quattrini has over the years, sold the Prime Minister several antiques, but even she found his request to ‘widen’ the bed a little shocking. Perhaps once his divorce with his wife Veronica Lario is finalized, the 73 year old billionaire intends to find as many warm bodies to keep him company as he can.
